Waste Management, Inc.'s Chemical Waste Management application to expand hazardous waste landfilling capacity at its Model City site has been denied in all respects. On September 29, 2025, the State Hazardous Waste Facility Siting Board denied a Certificate for the proposal. Since without that approval CWM could not construct the new landfill, NYSDEC was constrained to deny all permits as moot, which it did on October 2, 2025.
